Overview

Convert Calc ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights and choices.

Your Consent & Choices

On your first visit, we show a cookie consent banner at the bottom of the page. You may:

  • Accept — Load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for website performance analytics
  • Decline — Skip analytics cookies. The site works normally; we simply don't collect analytics data
  • Change your mind — Clear your browser's localStorage key cc_consent, or use your browser's cookie/storage settings

Your choice is remembered for 12 months via localStorage (not a cookie). You will be asked to reconsent after 12 months if you haven't manually cleared your preference.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

When you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Device type, operating system, browser
  • Approximate location (country/region, not precise)
  • Conversion events (unit conversions, searches, copy actions)
  • Session duration and bounce rate

Data is anonymised — we cannot identify you personally. Google Analytics stores data per Google's privacy policy.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Convert Calc displays advertisements via Google AdSense. This service is currently pending approval.

When AdSense is live, it may set cookies for personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ad Settings.

Your Rights (GDPR & PIPEDA)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR:

  • Right of access — Request what personal data we hold about you
  • Right of rectification — Correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — Request deletion (within legal constraints)
  • Right to object — Opt out of analytics or marketing
  • Right to data portability — Export your data in a portable format

If you are in Canada, your rights are governed by PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of personal information we hold.

For any privacy requests, contact us.

Data Retention

Google Analytics 4 retains data per its standard retention policy (typically 14 months for free GA4 accounts, configurable in GA4 admin). AdSense data follows Google's retention schedule. Your cookie consent preference is stored locally for 12 months; after that, we ask again.

Conversion factor citations link to NIST, BIPM, and other standards bodies. These sites have their own privacy policies and are not under our control.
